M&N's Llandudno Easter 5k Promonade Dash

Story

To raise money for The Julie Kay Breath of Life Fund, we are actually entered into the race, a race, us! As you'll know, we are not, nor have we ever been, runners! In fact I don't think either of us have run 5k ever all at once, not even in our dreams! It's a massive stretch for us, training is tricky, so please do support us by donating. The race is in a beautiful place, along the prom at Llandudno, one of mums favourite places.

Updates

We did it!!

5th April 2015
Well it is Easter Sunday and we are feeling a little stiff after our 5k Dash yesterday. The sun shone and we made it in 41 minutes!! Thank you all so much for helping us get over the line.

10 Days to go!!!

25th March 2015
10 days until Llandudno 5k Easter Dash, I can't believe it is nearly here!! I've been running for the past couple of weeks for 30 mins, not managed 5k yet, but there is still time, just [I hope!]. Spring has finally sprung here, thankfully, so the first outside run is planned for Friday, down the Llangollen canal, fingers crossed that goes ok. Then it'll be just over a week until the real thing . Raising money for the BLF, for my mums fund. Thanks so much to all you lovelies that have sponsored us so far and to those of you have sent tips and encouragement, all very much appreciated. There is still time to donate on here.

Week 9

25th March 2015
Well, never thought I'd get here, but I have. Been a tough road to get here and I hit many walls en route, mostly in my mind, but also some physical ones too, but this week I ran for 30 mins non stop!!!! NON STOP!! Not 5k yet, even including the 2 x 5 min runs warm up/cool down, but getting there and I actually graduated the C25k this week so something to be proud of. 2 weeks until the Dash so gotta keep on x

Week 6

18th February 2015
Week 5 of 9 .... So this was a massive stretch!! Really! Who thought this was a good idea? Run 1 = 5 min walk, 5 min run, 3 min walk, 5 min run, 3 min walk, 5 min run, 5 minute walk. Run 2 = 5 min walk, 8 minute run, 5 min walk, 8 min run, 5 min walk Run 3 = 5 min walk, 20 min run!!!!!, 5 minute walk. So I nearly managed it amazingly enough, dropped my water bottle and had to pick it up, then carried on running - so probably less than a minute sorting that out, I can't believe I nearly did it! As I didn't actually manage it properly though, I will repeat this weeks training next week. Wk 5 again it is then.

Week 5 Training

18th February 2015
Aarrgghhhhhh! 5 minutes running at a time is a massive stretch for me right now, but have completed week 4 training runs, 3km in total x 3. Week 3 I did twice as 3 minutes was such a stretch that 5 minutes was out of the question! Still made it this week and now on to week 5.
